Pre roll at tempo marker change

MessageAuthor

Hi , In a scenario where say the 1st bar is 120 and on the 10th bar i increase the tempo to 125 bpm , Is there a way to hear the Pre roll at the rate of 125bpm on the 10th bar instead of 120 bpm?

RE: Pre roll at tempo marker change

I seem to remember this issue being fixed alreay...testing. EDIT: Ok well it actually doesn't make sense for the pre-roll to be 125 because it's playing through the 120 region. What if you were going from 100bpm to 200bpm, would you really wanna hear the pre-roll at half speed? You can, however, use count-in at 125. This is the fix I was thinking of---didn't use to work correctly. Maybe you could try a gradual tempo shift at that section leading up to the tempo change (double click the tempo marker).

No, I get what you're saying so maybe I didn't myself explain clearly. You cannot expect a pre-roll to change the tempo of the part before the cursor, although there's nothing wrong with asking for such an option. Currently, you can only use a metronome count in, if you need to hear the tempo after the cursor as a lead-in to recording. So yes, for what you're doing, pre-roll doesn't make sense. Use count-in instead. Alternatively, you can make the tempo shift from measures 9 to 10 gradual if you double click the tempo marker. Then at least the change from 120bpm to 125bpm at measure 10 will not seem so sudden.
