Fully loaded S80 - what do all the buttons do ?

MessageAuthor

Just curious..... If you look at this pic: there is a row of 7 buttons to the left of the 12V socket. On a fully loaded car, what do they all do? From left to right: 1. Fold rear headrests (at a guess) 2. DSTC - on/off 3. Four-C - Comfort / Sport 4. ? 5. Fold in wing mirrors 6. ? (blanking plate in the pic) 7. ? (blanking plate in the pic)

Weird - the Right zone temperature selector doesn't have the white marker like the left one does? vipes

As Paul says, 4. is the interior alarm cut-off switch. It's unusual to see blanking plates though. Usually if the option is not specified then the blanking switch is not fitted. Looks like a Ford Granada with the blanked off switches.

I think the panel was modified someimte to just not show the blanks for unfilled positions. I hate blank positions on my cars, but have got used to just the one on mine now.

My S60 has the blank switches as well - IMHO it looks worse with just an empty piece of plastic and the switches all tucked away to one side. Wasn't anything I ordered though, just came that way. I think there is also another switch design for one of the remote engine heater options as well but I might be wrong on that one. Tony
